The Walbec team hosted two groups of students wanting to learn more about our impact on Wisconsin’s infrastructure. Providing tours enables our team members to share the variety of career pathways here at Walbec while actively supporting meaningful causes in the communities we live and work in.
Students from UW-Platteville visited our Vienna site to learn more about our quarry operations and asphalt plant. Walbec team members shared how we mine our high-quality aggregate and how this aggregate is essential to producing our specialized asphalt mixtures. They also discovered how our team pulls together these specialized mixtures for various customers at the asphalt plant.
Walbec also hosted a group of students from the Milwaukee School of Engineering at our Busse Road shop in Waukesha. The group met at the shop and started with a safety briefing followed by a short demonstration on workflow, repair requests, work orders, equipment history, budget management, and equipment life cycle. The students then went into the shop for a tour of the many pieces of equipment used throughout our family of companies.
