The Klode Park project involved the restoration of the beachfront area, which was a significant undertaking. The scope of the project included hauling in large limestone to stabilize the slope and sand to restore the beach, along with a small amount of concrete ribbon. The Payne + Dolan team quickly managed challenges throughout to ensure the shoreline was restored completely.
One of the most significant challenges was the steep bluff. The team had to find a way to transport the large amounts of material and equipment down to the beachfront area while navigating the steep terrain. To address this challenge, they built a switchback road to travel safely to and from the beachfront. This solution required careful planning and execution to ensure safety and efficiency.
Despite the challenges, the Walbec group performed exceptionally well, self-performing 95% of the work and completing the project on time and within budget.
