Three Walbec team members have been named Newsmakers of the Year by The Daily Reporter. Her achievements include establishing a robust marketing department, successfully rebranding the Walbec Group, implementing cutting-edge software solutions, and founding the Women of Walbec affinity group. Johl Turzinski, Project Manager at Zenith Tech, a Walbec Group Company, has been named Rising Young Professional of the Year. With a background in Civil Engineering and a passion for construction, Johl has quickly advanced since joining the company in 2019. His exceptional project management skills, commitment to building strong relationships, and ability to navigate complex projects have been key to his success. Johl’s work on major projects like the Eden Bio-Digester and the Hwy 41 corridor in Appleton, WI, demonstrates his technical expertise and innovative problem-solving abilities in the construction industry.
Ric Szalewski, Senior Project Manager at Walbec, has been named Senior Project Manager of the Year. With 34 years of experience in the construction industry, Ric has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise throughout his career. His journey from operator to senior project manager showcases his dedication and skill in managing complex projects, particularly in WisDOT highway construction. Ric’s contributions to award-winning projects, including the reconstruction of I-75 in Michigan and USH 41 mega projects in Wisconsin, highlight his commitment to excellence in the field.
