Payne + Dolan (P+D) Michigan recently undertook a significant project for the City of Ishpeming, focusing on the replacement of gravity sanitary sewer lines and the construction of critical infrastructure, all while adapting to challenges and exceeding client expectations.
PROJECT DETAILS
- Replacement of 25,000 feet of gravity sanitary sewer, ranging from 6” to 15” in diameter at 8’ to 20’ depths.
- Installation of 500 feet of 30” directional drilled main transmission line leading into the wastewater treatment plant, crossing under the Carp River.
- Completion of all related roadwork, including new sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and asphalt roadways.
- The project was executed during the summer months with an average crew size of 20 team members.
- Our team demonstrated remarkable adaptability when faced with initial survey and design challenges. We collaboratively refined various project aspects on-site, ensuring we met the timeline without compromising the exceptional quality of the final result.
- The project utilized machine control technology, equipping all excavators and bulldozers with Topcon and Trimble equipment. This allowed us to log the project in real time, ensuring the production of accurate and precise as-built documentation for the city and the engineer.
- The City of Ishpeming and its residents have expressed enthusiastic praise for our work, emphasizing our commitment to cleanliness and safety.
We’re excited to announce our upcoming return in the spring for another major infrastructure project—the installation of over 23,000 feet of water main. We look forward to our continued partnership with the City and residents of Ishpeming, MI.
