The Position:
We are seeking a detail-oriented HR Data Specialist to manage and maintain data across multiple HR platforms supporting 2,100 employees across six companies. This role will be instrumental in our upcoming HR platform transition, helping to optimize the new system while ensuring continuous support of existing operations.
This position offers the exciting opportunity to be part of a major system transformation while developing expertise in HR systems and data management. The ideal candidate will combine technical ability with an understanding of HR processes and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Roles and responsibilities
System Transition & Optimization
- Support the implementation of our new HR platform
- Assist in data migration and validation between systems
- Help identify and document process improvements for the new platform
- Test new system features and workflows
- Create documentation for new processes and procedures
- Support end-user training and adoption
- Recommend automation opportunities within the new system
Data Management & Systems
- Enter, update, and maintain employee data across multiple HR platforms
- Extract and compile data for various HR reports and analytics
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency during and after system transition
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies
- Support data cleanup initiatives
- Maintain documentation for data processes
HR Function Support
The role provides critical data support across the following areas:
Employee Lifecycle Management
- Process new hire, transfer, and termination data
- Maintain accurate staffing and organizational data
- Support onboarding data requirements
- Update recruiting and talent acquisition systems
Compensation & Benefits
- Maintain payroll and total rewards data
- Process benefits enrollment information
- Support compensation review cycles
- Update learning and development records
HR Operations
- Generate analytics and reports for HR initiatives
- Maintain vendor management systems
- Support compliance reporting requirements
- Track diversity and inclusion metrics
- Update engagement survey data
- Maintain HRIS records and documentation

The Location:
This position is located primarily in Waukesha, WI with minimal to no travel or overnight stays.
The Candidate:
- 2+ years experience in HR data management
- Proficiency in HRIS and HR-related platforms
- Strong Excel and data manipulation skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent accuracy
- Experience working with sensitive data
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Experience with system implementations preferred
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies
Technical Requirements
- Advanced Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables, formulas)
- Experience with HR systems and databases
- Knowledge of data privacy and security practices
- Ability to learn new systems quickly
- Experience with system testing and validation preferred
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with multiple HR platforms
- Previous involvement in system implementations or migrations
- Knowledge of HR processes and terminology
- Background in multi-company environments
- Understanding of HR compliance requirements
