The Position:
The Construction and Engineering Recruiter will help us build a new recruitment strategy from scratch. This role offers a chance to create and shape a recruiting approach that provides top-notch service to both our hiring managers and qualified candidates in construction and engineering. You’ll be key in developing great experiences for skilled professionals like Structural Engineers, Project Superintendents, and Renewable Energy (Solar) leaders. Roles and responsibilities
- Execute full-cycle recruitment process for specialized construction and engineering positions including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer management
- Partner with Hiring Managers to understand technical staffing needs, position requirements, and team dynamics within construction and engineering contexts
- Develop and implement targeted sourcing strategies for hard-to-fill technical positions in the construction and renewable energy sectors
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified candidates through industry-specific networks and professional associations
- Leverage industry knowledge to effectively assess candidate qualifications for specialized roles
- Track and report recruitment metrics, providing regular updates to stakeholders on hiring progress
- Coordinate with HR Business Partners on strategic workforce planning for technical teams
- Facilitate candidate assessment and selection processes tailored to construction and engineering roles

The Location:
This position is located primarily in Waukesha, WI but projects will vary by location throughout the Walbec Group family of companies, you can expect to travel up to 10% of the time with occasional overnight stays.
The Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of recruitment experience, with demonstrated success recruiting for construction, engineering, or renewable energy positions
- Proven track record of successfully placing highly skilled technical professionals such as Structural Engineers, Project Superintendents, and Solar Energy leaders
- Strong understanding of technical qualifications and certifications relevant to construction and engineering roles
- Excellent knowledge of employment laws and compliance requirements in technical industries
- Strong network within the construction and engineering sectors
- Advanced skills in candidate assessment for specialized technical positions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to effectively engage top technical talent
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with recruitment marketing strategies targeted at engineering and construction professionals
- Knowledge of construction, engineering, and renewable energy industry trends and labor markets
- Familiarity with technical terminology and job requirements in construction and engineering fields
- Experience with specialized technical job boards and professional associations
