The Position:
We’re looking for a Yard Manager who will assist and support the Field Crews, Mechanics, Truck Drivers, and other Management. The position performs routine daily activities related to the overall organization or the company yard and day-to-day support of ongoing crew operations. The Yard Manager must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have a strong communication and organization skills.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Purchase, receive and organize materials and equipment.
- Inventory bulk materials weekly.
- Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the yard, parking areas, and buildings.
- Facilitate maintenance of small equipment and tools
- Load equipment, tools and materials onto trucks for delivery to jobsites.
- Arrange for the repair of equipment and tools as needed by outside vendors.
- Manages yard personnel as assigned.
- Work closely with field crews and managers.
- Acts as a safety leader.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
The Location:
- This position will be based out of our yard in Verona, WI but travel to any job site is required as needed. Our projects are typically located throughout Dane County.
The Candidate:
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Must be punctual and dependable.
- Be able to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions, and work in dirty and dusty environments.
- 3-5 years of industry experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage own time, and time of other personnel efficiently.
- Ability to motivate, develop, direct, and lead a team.
- Prior leadership experience preferred.
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
